Disney Plus, the new streaming service from Disney, was announced earlier this year at the D23 Expo to much fanfare. Now that the service has launched in the U.S. and Canada, you can sign up to get your very own subscription to watch your favorite movies and T.V. shows (for only $6.99/month). No matter how you go about downloading Disney Plus movies, these 10 ways will help you get started!
Get Disney+ Streaming Devices
One of Disney’s best features is its family-friendly content. However, it’s not available to watch on all devices or platforms (yet). If you want your whole family to enjoy streaming all that Disney+ offers, then getting a Disney streaming device is for you. At $5 per month, you can get even more out of your movie-watching experience with one of these gadgets. Currently, there are four different options: Fire T.V. Stick 4K, Apple T.V. 4K (latest version), Chromecast Ultra, and Roku Streaming Stick+.
Whether you have an old or new television set at home doesn’t matter—these devices will provide high-quality images and excellent sound quality for both audio and video.
Use Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video comes as part of an Amazon Prime membership and can be downloaded and streamed on nearly any device. Like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video offers a diverse library of movies and television shows for you to watch at your leisure. The best part? You can download it, so you don’t need an internet connection. So if you take a flight or visit friends for a few days, your favorite Disney movies will be waiting for you when you land.
Watch Disney Plus on the go through Amazon Fire T.V. Stick, stream them through Amazon Fire T.V., or download them onto your phone or tablet, so they’re available no matter where life takes you!
Use Sling T.V.
Although Disney hasn’t announced a specific date for when it will release its streaming service, according to an announcement on its earnings call, it plans to launch sometime in late 2019. The company has yet to reveal pricing details, but that hasn’t stopped fans from wanting access. You can sign up for Sling T.V. at $20 per month.
Sling T.V. is an over-the-top streaming service that provides numerous channels without cable, including ESPN and Disney Channel. It also offers international viewing if you live outside of the U.S., which means you won’t need a VPN if you choose Sling T.V. as your method of watching Disney movies online.
Use HOOQ
HOOQ is one of our favorite services when it comes to downloading Disney movies. Why? The app has a minimalist, modern design that makes finding your favorite movies more accessible than ever before. It’s quick and easy for anyone, no matter how inexperienced they are with downloading shows or movies on their phones.
But don’t take our word for it—give HOOQ a try! You can download plenty of Disney content for free, including shows like No Good Nick and Stuck in the Middle. With more Disney content being added all of the time, there are sure to be lots of new options waiting for you once you begin your HOOQ experience!
Watch on Hulu
Unlike Disney Plus, Hulu is an on-demand streaming service. That means if you want to watch a specific movie or show, you don’t have to hope it comes up during your next Netflix binge. The service has also expanded its library of movies, and T.V. shows in recent years, including content from Disney.
You can currently subscribe for $7.99 per month with limited ads or pay $11.99 for an ad-free version of Hulu with live T.V. (50+ channels). If you’re interested in HBO or Showtime, some options start at $14.99/month each (additional costs apply). Read More About Hulu + Streaming Disney Content From Home!
Watch on HBO Go/HBO Now
Disney doesn’t plan to launch a streaming service in 2019, but you can still watch your favorite Disney TV shows and movies on HBO Go/HBO Now. Titles from each of Disney’s four divisions—Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Walt Disney Animation Studios—are available for streaming with a cable subscription.
You can also purchase access to individual T.V. shows and movies à la carte for between $2-$5 each. New titles are added weekly. If you’re hoping to catch up on every episode of DuckTales or binge Moana, then downloading is your best bet for now.
Watch on CBS All Access
Stream Captain Marvel and other hit Disney movies with a CBS All Access subscription. The $5.99-per-month service offers thousands of episodes from over a dozen CBS-owned shows, including Mom, How I Met Your Mother, Scorpion, and original series like No Activity and Tell Me a Story. It’s also available on iOS, Android, Roku, and Apple T.V. — so you can stream it wherever you go.
(You’ll need a Starz subscription through Hulu to watch any Disney+ originals.) If you’re not sure if CBS All Access is worth it, try its one-week free trial. You’ll get commercial-free access to all of its content for that week.
Use AppleTV 4K
If you want to watch Disney plus on your television, use an AppleTV 4K; it’s got a considerable advantage in that it supports AirPlay 2. That means you can use Apple T.V. (the app) and beam any video from your iPhone or iPad onto your television. It’s straightforward and convenient, and other ways besides Apple T.V. also work great for streaming, including Rok. If you have a gaming console or intelligent T.V. with built-in apps, search for Disney plus in your settings. There are plenty of options.
Use VUDU
Using a download service like VUDU allows you to watch your favorite Disney movies without having them take up space on your device. Just pick a movie from Disney’s library and protect it from your computer or smart T.V. VUDU has an extensive collection of films, and they’re also available in 4K if that’s something you want to take advantage of. This method won’t work for every movie, but it works for just about all of them—and for downloading Disney Plus movies.
- Use FuboTV
If you’re a sports fan looking for a legal, cheap way to watch a ton of sports games—without having cable, T.V. is your best bet. FuboTV allows viewers to subscribe to more than 90 live channels on Amazon Fire T.V. and Apple T.V. for $40 per month. From there, subscribers can also add NBA League Pass and MLB. T.V. packages for an additional monthly fee. To get started, download fuboTV on Amazon Fire T.V. or Apple T.V. and create an account with your email address and payment information.
Once that’s done, you can sign up through Amazon Channels with your Amazon account info and start watching immediately. Don’t miss: Here Are All of Your Choices for Streaming Live Sports Online Without Cable!
