Netflix has announced the start of work on a sequel to Red Notice. The film scored nearly 400 million views in about six weeks, including a record 364 million in its first 28 days.

Production of the sequels
Production of the sequels is slated to begin in early 2023, with two films being shot in a row.
Netflix is preparing a series of filming for the sequel to “Red Notice”: Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and Rawson Marshall Thurber are expected to return.
When the deadline came and Universal was still hesitating due to the large budget of Rawson Marshall Thurber’s three-member script Red Notice and the greedy Netflix franchise, skeptics questioned the wisdom of a global heist movie with superstar royalties for Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, as well as the desirability of an eight-figure fee to screenwriter and director Thurber.
It looks like Netflix’s biggest gamble on the film has paid off: Deadline has learned that the streamer is in the early stages of assembling two sequels to Red Notice with the hopes of starting production in early 2023, depending on deals and schedules of its busy stars.
Sources said Thurber began writing.
Netflix declined to comment, but sources said the plan is to bring back the stellar trio and add new characters to flesh out a robbery ensemble reminiscent of the stellar Ocean Eleven franchise.
