Last year, Google released more than one anti-spam update, to know :
- The November 2021 anti-spam update.

Google Search Spam Updates
Google always tries to catch spam with the many improvements and updates it makes every few months. Now Google uses techniques and AI in its system, an AI-based system known as “ Spam Brain ”. Which helps identify spam emails and even detects all new types that constantly appear for random emails.
If you see a change on your site after the update, be aware that you should review and read Google’s anti-spam policy to avoid breaking the rules.
Sites that violate anti-spam policies may be penalized by Google, as the site’s results will be affected to rank lower and sometimes not appear in Google search results.
Google fights spam websites, those who send spam and also classifies websites that use spam as low-quality sites. And even trick users into obtaining their personal information or tricking them into installing programs that may harm them. Google is, therefore, very strict with those who use anti-spam tricks.
What is a spam update?
These updates focus on removing bad practice web page results that attempt to trick the search engine.
Google has shared a list of all these practices that can penalize this update.
The most targeted spam sites are usually the following:
- Unnamed: Displaying user content that is different from content presented to the search crawler.
- Keyword stuffing: The excessive use of keywords that we want to implement makes the content of our page difficult to understand for a real user.
- Recurring pages: several pages with the same content and aimed at generating traffic and attracting users without bringing any benefit.
- Copy content: consists of stealing third-party content instead of creating new exclusive content, i.e. content from other sites, without contributing anything new.
If you’re not using methods like the ones above and your page meets Google’s quality guidelines, don’t worry.
This year, Google has introduced more than one update to serve users. The most important of which is the August 2022 Helpful Content Update. As well as the September 2022 Core Algorithm Update. And the September 2022 Google Product Reviews. Which highlight the provision of content that benefits the user and targets search intent.
